“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God” Romans 8:28

I began to self-teach myself how to loom knit and crochet in 2017 to relieve stress in my life both personally and professionally. As a single mom with an African American teenage son living in Brooklyn, New York came many challenges and a lot of sleepless nights.

Professionally, I am an educator and data specialist, and that alone can be a stressful job. Although stressful, I would not change none of my choices. My professional life demanded a lot of my time. As an educator, I taught elementary in the public school system, as well as Students in Temporary Housing. What started out for me as a form of therapy quickly became noticed by my coworkers, students, and parents. I began wearing my products and people would compliment me and ask how much I paid or where did I buy the item. For those who knew these were my Kreations wanted to place an order. Before I knew it, selling became a thing for me. Most importantly, the joy I received from this therapy was the interest and questions my students shared in what I was doing.

So, I removed myself from the equation and decided to integrate my love for loom knitting and crocheting and incorporate the craft into mini lessons for students, more so focusing on the students that had challenges with retaining information,
ADHD, and behavioral issues. Many of my students yearn to complete projects for themselves and their love ones, and so the process begun. What was once only for me has shifted and became a form of therapy for my students, parents, and staff. It is therapeutic for me because I get joy from sharing the love of my craft with others.
